KATHMANDU: Ritz-Carlton, one of the most prestigious luxury hotel brands, is coming to Kathmandu.
CG Hospitality Global on Friday organized a ground-breaking ceremony for the hotel in Durbar Marga, Kathmandu. The ultra-luxury hotel will have 150 rooms as well as branded residences, a business complex, and a casino.
The hotel is being built on nine ropanis of land and is estimated to cost $100 million. It is expected to start commercial operations in 2029.
Along with CG Hospitality, IJ Group, Sharma and Company, Amrit Shakya, and Sanchit Shrestha are also investing in the project.
According to Rahul Chaudhary, managing director and CEO of CG Hospitality Global, the entry of Ritz-Carlton reinforces the Chaudhary Group’s commitment to elevating Nepal’s tourism sector to global standards. “This initiative is not just about launching a project. It reflects the vision and drive of young entrepreneurs aiming to establish world-class tourism in Nepal,” Chaudhary said. “It is also a symbol of our support for and confidence in the new government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah. Through this project, we aim to contribute to national goals by creating jobs, promoting high-end tourism, and boosting economic growth.”
