KATHMANDU: The government has approved the Foreign Assistance Mobilization Policy, 2025, and the Public Procurement (14th Amendment) Regulations, 2025.

The cabinet meeting held on Monday evening took the decision.

Other decisions taken by the cabinet include:

  • Formation of a 15-member high-level governance reforms committee chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
  • Approval in principle to accept a $100 million loan from the OPEC Fund for International Development for the SASEC Electricity Transmission and Distribution Project, with a negotiation team formed under a joint secretary of the Ministry of Finance to finalize the loan agreement.
  • Provide Rs 1 million each as compensation to the families of Sabin Majaharjan and Suresh Rajak, who lost their lives in the March 28 incident in Tinkune, Kathmandu.
  • Authorization for the Lumbini Province government to use eight bighas of government land in Kapilvastu to establish a province-level Horticulture Resource Center.
  • Authorization for Butwal Municipality to use eight kathas of government land in Motipur of Rupandehi, to construct the Ward-19 office building.
  • Royalty waiver for 13 Nepal Army personnel and 10 Indian Army personnel participating in the Joint Nepal-India Mountaineering Expedition on Kanchenjunga.
  • Authorization for the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation to finalize and sign an MoU on Cultural Cooperation between Nepal’s tourism ministry and the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
  • Amendment to the organizational structure and approval of positions for the Supreme Court and its subordinate offices.
  • Promotion of Joint Secretary Chandrakala Paudel to the rank of Secretary and her appointment as the Principal Secretary of the Koshi Province Government.
  • Transfer of Principal Secretary of Koshi Province, Kedarnath Koirala, to the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation.
