KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three suspects for the murder of 22-year-old Basanta Kalathoki in a hostel in Shankhamul of Kathmandu on Friday morning.
According to District Police Range, Kathmandu, Kalathoki, who was severely injured following an attack with a sharp weapon, died while undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital, Kathmandu, at around 12 noon of the same day.
Police have taken 19-year-old Shekhar Yadav of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-3, Bara, who was also staying at the hostel, into custody in connection with the incident. Another 19-year-old suspect, Pramit Patel, who was also staying at the hostel, was arrested in Bhainse with the help of the District Police Office, Makwanpur.
Police have also arrested the owner of the hostel, 23-year-old Alok Thakur of Loharpatti Municipality-6, Mahottari.
The Kathmandu District Court has granted police permission to keep the suspects in custody for five days for further investigation, according to the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
