KATHMANDU: The Securities Board of Nepal (Sebon) has decided to reduce commissions levied by brokerage firms on securities transactions handled by them.
A meeting of the board of directors of the stock market regulator held on Wednesday decided to reduce such commission by 10%.
Investors pay a commission of 0.4% on transactions up to Rs 50,0000. Similarly, they pay 0.37% as commission on transactions between Rs 50,000 and Rs 500,000, 0.34% on transactions between Rs 500,000 to Rs 2 million, 0.30% on transactions between Rs 2 million to Rs 10 million, and 0.27% on transactions above Rs 10 million.
The meeting also decided to reduce the commission to Sebon by 10%.
The decisions, however, are subject to the approval of the Ministry of Finance.
