Gwarko accident victim identified

KATHMANDU: Police have identified the woman who was killed in a bus crash on the Ring Road in Gwarko of Lalitpur on Thursday morning.

The accident occurred at around 10:15 am when a bus crashed into the retaining wall of the Gwarko flyover in Lalitpur-17. Metropolitan City. The bus reportedly went out of control, hit the wall and overturned, killing one woman.

The deceased has been identified as Jenisha Lama (40) of Dolakha.

Police have taken the driver of the bus, Lakshi Tamang (36), from Timal of Kavre, for necessary investigation.

A total of 18 people were injured in the accident. Nine of the injured are receiving treatment at B & B Hospital, while the remaining nine have been sent to Global Hospital, police say.
