KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rebounded on Friday, ending a four-day losing streak as the benchmark index climbed 12.96 points to close the week’s trading at 2,685.54.

The market remained mostly positive throughout the session. Although the index dipped after early gains, buying pressure strengthened in the afternoon before it settled 0.48% higher at the close.

Investor sentiment improved during the session. Unit prices of 180 stocks went up during the session, while 82 declined and 13 remained unchanged. Total turnover slightly improved to Rs 3.76 billion, with 8.85 million units traded through 46,752 transactions.

Among individual stocks, Everest Colors Ltd logged the highest gain of 14.99%. Laxmi Value Fund 2 and Joshi Hydropower Development Company followed with gains of 8% and 6.79%, respectively. On the other hand, Bottlers Nepal (Tarai) Ltd posted the biggest loss of 5.33%. Kalinchowk Hydropower Ltd and Corporate Development Bank Ltd followed with losses of 4.55% and 3.03%, respectively.

Ridi Power Company Ltd topped the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs 172.63 million. Global IME Bank and Central Finance Company Ltd followed with turnovers of Rs 153.25 million and Rs 148.36 million, respectively.

Except for the Non-life Insurance and Trading sub-indices, all trading groups closed in the green. The Others sub-index posted the biggest gain of 0.93%, followed by the Banking and Hydropower sub-indices, which rose 0.72% and 0.69%, respectively.
