KATHMANDU: Indian luxury hotel chain The Postcard Hotel is entering the Nepali market later this month with ‘The Postcard Hotel on the Rapti River’ in Meghauli, Chitwan.
Vaidya’s Organization of Industrial and Trading Houses (VOITH) has entered into an agreement with Postcard Hotel and Resorts to brand and promote Saswata Wildlife Resort as ‘The Postcard Hotel on the Rapti River’.
Located near the Rapti River, the 22-room-and-suite property sits on the buffer zone of Chitwan National Park and offers views of the surrounding forests and hills.
The opening will mark the brand’s expansion into its fourth country after India, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.
The Postcard on the Rapti River will feature 22 rooms and suites, with private sit-outs overlooking the river or forest. The 5,000 sq ft, two-bedroom Presidential Suite will include a private pool.
Dining and leisure facilities at the resort include Tree Tops, an indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar on an elevated deck overlooking the forest. Similarly, the Tribal Circle will host open-air barbecues around a bonfire. Other facilities include a swimming pool, spa treatment rooms, a steam room and a sauna. Similarly, an elevated viewing deck beside the pool will offer views of the surrounding landscape and opportunities for wildlife sightings.
The resort offers activities like visits to nearby Tharu villages, naturalist-led jeep safaris, guided forest walks, canoe excursions along the Rapti River and birdwatching experiences. Visits to nearby Tharu villages will introduce visitors to the region’s cultural heritage and the communities that have lived alongside its forests and rivers.
