KATHMANDU: Rajendra Kumar (RK) Sharma has announced his candidacy for the post of President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).
Sharma announced his candidacy from Qatar, where he is based, on Thursday morning. On the occasion, he also unveiled a set of 24 promises, each corresponding to the 24 months of his potential term as president if elected.
Sharma is the incumbent vice president of the NRNA’s International Coordination Committee. “My experience as the vice president of the NRNA has provided me with the expertise needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the presidency,” he added
While announcing his candidacy, Sharma expressed his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of Nepali workers by involving them in the Group Investment Fund, which, he shared, will secure their future when they return to Nepal after toiling in a foreign land.
Sharma has been actively engaged in the NRNA movement since 2025.
The 11th NRNA Global Conference and International General Assembly to be held in Kathmandu on October 17-20 will elect the new leadership of NRNA for a two-year term.
