KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance Swarnim Wagle has said that, within five years, young people of Nepal will no longer be forced to go abroad to pursue their dreams.
Addressing the National Youth Entrepreneurship Conference organized by the National Youth Entrepreneurs Forum in Kathmandu on Sunday, Wagle said the budget for the upcoming fiscal year would create plenty of opportunities for employment, education and other prospects for youths within the country.
“The compulsion for Nepali youth to go abroad to realize their dreams must end. We have begun policy-level initiatives through the budget to lay the foundation so that such a situation does not persist,” he said. “Implementation of the budget will put the country on that path.”
Wagle also said measures such as tax incentives, relief for entrepreneurs and businesses facing issues related to outstanding dues, digitization of government administration and the implementation of good governance agendas would help move the country onto a new path of development. He added that the new budget had reduced tax rates and provided significant relief to young people earning up to Rs 100,000 a month.
The minister also claimed that the budget was prepared with considerable focus on expanding youth entrepreneurship and that many programs were announced accordingly.
