KATHMANDU: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India is ready to work closely with Nepal for shared prosperity and a brighter future.
In a social media post written after meeting Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane in New Delhi on Wednesday, Modi said he was delighted to welcome Lamichhane and that he fully shared his desire to work closely together for a shared and prosperous future.
He also added that Nepal remains a priority partner for India under its “Neighbourhood First” policy. “We look forward to collaborating with the new government to elevate the special and multifaceted relationship between our two countries to greater heights,” Modi said.

According to Modi, India is eager to work with Nepal’s new government to elevate the special and multidimensional relationship between the two countries to an even higher level.
Lamichhane, who is in India on a five-day visit at the invitation of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, on Tuesday met BJP National President Nitin Nabin. He also met India’s Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar and Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah.
RSP Joint General Secretary and lawmaker Bipin Kumar Acharya, Secretariat member and lawmaker Deepak Bohora, Lamichhane’s personal secretary Pradeep Acharya, and Lamichhane’s spouse Nikita Poudel are also in the delegation.
