NC removes Krishna Prasad Sitaula as leader in upper house, picks Kamala Panta This

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) has removed Krishna Prasad Sitaula as its leader in the National Assembly.

NC’s parliamentary party leader in the House of Representatives has nominated Kamala Pant to the position.

As per the NC statute, the leader of the federal parliamentary party can appoint the party’s leader in the upper house.

Panta was elected to the National Assembly in 2022 under the women’s category from Gandaki Province. Earlier, she was elected to the House of Representatives from Gorkha in 1994 and 1999.

Meanwhile, NC has nominated Abhishek Pratap Shah as its deputy leader in the House of Representatives, and Basana Shah and Nischal Rai as Chief Whip and Whip, respectively.
