KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has raided the residence of Madhesh Province Assembly Member Saroj Singh Kushbaha.
A CIAA team carried out the raid at Kushbaha’s home in Janakpurdham-9 on Monday afternoon.
Kushbaha was elected to the Madhesh Province Assembly from Mahottari-4 (B) in the 2022 general election as a candidate of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal. He previously served as Minister of State for Internal Affairs and Law during the assembly’s earlier term.
According to a source, the raid followed complaints that Kushbaha had sold development projects allocated to him by the Madhesh Province Government. The team reportedly seized his mobile phone and several documents, and also detained his personal secretary, Binod Lal.
