Road connectivity between Rasuwa, Nuwakot resumes

KATHMANDU: Rasuwa district was reconnected to the road network on Sunday following the Bhotekoshi floods, with the construction of an Acrow bridge over the Falakhu River on Sunday.

The floods that flowed into the Trishuli River through the Bhotekoshi River had swept away two concrete bridges connecting Betrawati in Ward-10 of Bidur Municipality and Ward-5 of Uttargaya Rural Municipality, cutting road connectivity between Rasuwa and Nuwakot.

The new bridge over the Falakhu River has eased movement of people between the two districts and people in Nuwakot and Rasuwa, and will also facilitate transportation of relief supplies and essential goods to flood-affected areas.

The bridge has a load-bearing capacity of 40 tons. It is 73.2 metres long and 5.5 metres wide.

Meanwhile, the Nepali Army has handed over the bridge to the Galchhi-Rasuwagadhi Road Project.
