Hearing panel calls for complaints against Chief Justice nominee

KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has called for complaints against Justice Prakashman Singh Raut, who has been recommended for appointment as the next Chief Justice.

A meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee held on Thursday decided to invite complaints against Justice Raut, as well as Chitralekha Yadav, who has been recommended as Nepal’s ambassador to Australia.

During the meeting, committee chair Ishwari Devi Neupane presented a proposal to call for complaints against the two through government media and digital communication channels. The committee duly approved her proposal.

A cabinet meeting held on Sunday recommended Raut for appointment as the next Chief Justice.
