KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) has concluded that there are indications of communal harmony being disturbed in Nepal.
“Nepal has enjoyed a long period of social harmony. This should continue. However, we have observed indications of societal unrest. It is crucial to address them promptly,” Agni Prasad Sapkota, the Maoist Center Spokesperson, said, following a meeting of party office-bearers on Thursday.
Sapkota also revealed that the meeting decided to engage in discussions on this matter with various social organizations. “Party leaders and members must actively promote social harmony during the party’s special transformation campaign,” he added.
Additionally, Sapkota mentioned that the meeting also discussed the demands put forth by school teachers. “The meeting concluded that the concerns raised by relief quota teachers should be addressed through dialogue,” he said.
The meeting was chaired by Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha due as party president and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is on a weeklong visit to China.
