KATHMANDU: As many as 20 people were injured when a school bus collided with seven motor vehicles, including a jeep carrying a funeral party, in Tikauli forest along East-West Highway in Chitwan on Wednesday.
The bus belonging to Oxford College of Gaindakot in Nawalpur hit a Bolero jeep carrying a funeral party as well as four motorbikes and two scooters.
According to DSP Bijay Raj Pandit, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Chitwan, out of 20 individuals injured, even are in critical condition. The severely injured victims are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital.
Among the critically injured are Krishna Bahadur Tamang of Khairahani-4, Jit Bahadur Tamang of Khairahani-1, Kusum Bahadur Rana of Ratnanagar-14, Suresh Shrestha and Dol Bahadur Karki of Ratnanagar-14 and Kishor Tamang of Ratnanagar-9 of Chitwan, and Mohan Tamang of Hetauda-14 of Makwanpur.
Police have taken bus driver Ashish Pariyar (26) of Gaindakot-9 of Nawalpur under control for investigation.
The driver of the school bus, Ashish Pariyar (26) from Gaindakot-9 in Nawalpur, has been taken into police custody for further investigation into the incident.
