KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has finalized four names to join the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government in the first phase of cabinet expansion.
The party has decided to join the government under the leadership of Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka. Khadka will become Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence in Dahal’s cabinet.
Similarly, the party has picked Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat for finance, Ramesh Rijal for industry, commerce and supplies, and Sita Gurung for urban development ministries.
NC has been assigned eight ministries in the cabinet.
The anti-establishment faction of the party led by Dr Shekhar Koirala has been making demands for three ministries.
