KATHMANDU: German ambassador to Nepal, Dr Thomas Prinz, has begun his cycling journey to Dhaka – the capital city of Bangladesh – from Kathmandu.
Prinz hopes to reach Dhaka for Christmas celebration after cycling 850 kilometers through three countries – Nepal, India and Bangladesh.
“I am on a bike trip to Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh, from Kathmandu through India. During the journey, I plan to cover 850km and reach Dhaka by Christmas,” Dr Prinz wrote in a Tweet post.
Dr Prinz started his journey from Kathmandu and reached Hetauda on Monday, covering a distance of 76km. He entered India via Gaur borderpoint and reached Bairgania of Bihar on Tuesday after covering a distance of 118km.
Dr Prinz is not the first German envoy with interest in outdoor activities. In 2017, German ambassador to Nepal Matthias drove back to Germany covering 11,000 km after completing his tenure in Nepal.
