KATHMANDU: A total of 65.98% of students passed the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) 2026, according to the Office of the Controller of Examinations.
The pass rate has improved by 4.17 percentage points compared to last year, when 61.81% students had passed the annual Class 10 examination.
A total of 512,421 students appeared in the SEE examinations this year. Of them, 257,613 were girls, 254,801 were boys, and seven belonged to other genders. Likewise, 23 students from Everest School in Japan also sat for the examination.
The examinations were conducted through 1,966 centres across the country.
According to the results breakdown, seven students secured a GPA between 1.60 and 2.00, while5,190 students obtained GPA scores ranging from 2.00 to 2.40. Similarly, 55,977 students achieved GPA between 2.40 and 2.80 and 94,022 scored between 2.80 and 3.20.
A total of 80,372 students obtained GPA between 3.20 and 3.60, while as many as 48,392 secured GPA scores between 3.60 and 4.00. Meanwhile, 146,507 students were categorised as non-graded.
Results can be accessed through websites and other available platforms, according to the office.
Officials say the results could be published earlier this year because answer sheets were checked at the examination centres themselves.
