Nepalgunj 10 Night Run winners can now participate in Thailand’s Bangsaen Series

KATHMANDU: Winners of the Nepalgunj 10 Night Run will now secure entry into Thailand’s prestigious Bangsaen Series.

TS Thakuri, founder of Dhara Nepalgunj Marathon, and Bangsaen Series founder Rut Jiroajvaanichakorn signed an agreement to this end recently. As per the agreement, runners and officials recommended by the Nepalgunj Marathon will receive free entry and hospitality in Bangsaen races, while Nepali organizers will extend similar support to Thai participants.

Bangsaen, a coastal city of Thailand, hosts three major international events: the World Athletics Platinum Label Bangsaen 21 Half Marathon, the Bangsaen 42 Marathon and the Bangsaen 10.
Thakuri said the partnership would give Nepali athletes and officials global exposure and strengthen regional collaboration.

Past champions of Nepalgunj Marathon earned spots in the London Marathon. They will also get opportunities to participate in running events in Valencia and Osaka.

Certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), Nepalgunj is the only Nepali city with two full AIMS memberships.

Besides the Night Run, Nepalgunj organizes several other races, including the Gaughat Green Run, Rapti-Sonari Nature Run, Karnali Half Marathon, Kathmandu 25K Heritage Race and the Nepal International Running Conference.
