KATHMANDU: The government has announced a cash award of Rs 500,000 for Rabindra Dhant, who recently became champion of the bantamweight category in the Matrix Fight Night 17 (MFN).
His coach will receive Rs 200,000, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said in a social media post on Wednesday.
“The cabinet meeting held the other day has decided to provide Rabindra Dhant with Rs 500,000 as an incentive. Similarly, his coach will be given Rs 200,000,” Oli said.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City had honored Dhant with a cash prize of Rs 200,000.
