KATHMANDU: Senior leaders of the CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist) held discussions on recent political developments, including the formation of a high-level committee to probe the visit visa controversy.
In the meeting held on Tuesday at the Maoist Center’s parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar, leaders from both parties also discussed the future of the Socialist Front.
After the meeting, Maoist Center Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal said the two parties held a general discussion on bilateral relations, the current situation in Parliament and ways to strengthen the Socialist Front. He welcomed the formation of the probe committee as per the two-point agreement signed with the ruling coalition.
Dahal also told mediapersons that he had continuously advocated to ensure that Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and its President Rabi Lamichhane are not treated unfairly, and expressed hope that RSP would recognise that effort.
Along with Dahal, Maoist Center Senior Vice-chairperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Vice-chairperson Pampha Bhusal and General Secretary Dev Gurung, and Unified Socialist Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal, Senior Vice-chairperson Rajendra Pandey and General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal attended the discussion.
