ITAHARI: Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City has unveiled a budget of Rs 2.55 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26.
The total outlay is Rs 1 billion less than the current fiscal year’s allocation.
Deputy Mayor Sangita Kumari Chaudhary presented the budget during the municipal assembly meeting on Tuesday.
The sub-metropolis has earmarked Rs 1.04 billion for recurrent expenditure, Rs 90 million for financial management and Rs 1.30 billion for capital expenditure.
The budget prioritizes physical infrastructure development, education and healthcare services to ensure citizens’ constitutional rights to education and health, production and income generation to reduce poverty, and inclusive and participatory development
The budget of Rs 3.57 billion for the current fiscal had drawn criticism for being overly ambitious.
