KATHMANDU: As many as 15 people were injured when a jeep met with an accident at Maruwa along the Siddhicharan Highway in Katari-3, Udayapur, on Monday.
According to the District Police Office, Udayapur, the jeep lost control after its brakes failed and plunged about 10 meters off the road.
The injured have been rushed to Katari Hospital in Udayapur for treatment.
“Seriously injured Ram Bahadur Magar, 71, of Katari-2, has been referred to Biratnagar for further treatment,” police said.
The Siddhicharan Highway runs from Mirchaiya in Siraha district, along the East-West Highway, to Salleri in Solukhumbu district. The highway connects Siraha, Udayapur, Okhaldhunga and Solukhumbu districts.
