KATHMANDU: Two individuals died when a car collided head-on with a tipper truck on the East-West Highway in Bara district on Friday afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as the car driver, Jit Narayan Sah, from Sundarpur in Barahathawa-4 of Sarlahi, and passenger Narayan Hari Sharma (46) from Hajariya in Barahathawa-15 of Sarlahi.
According to the District Police Office, Bara, the car, traveling toward Nijgadh from Pathlaiya, collided with a tipper truck heading toward Pathlaiya from the east at 13 Kilo.
The front of the car was completely damaged in the accident, while the tipper truck overturned on the highway.
Police say the driver of the tipper truck is on the run.
