KATHMANDU: Members of the House of Representatives have drawn the government’s attention to contemporary issues such as education, health, employment, peace and security, and road construction.
Speaking during the zero hour session on Wednesday, Bina Lama of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) expressed dissatisfaction over the criteria set by the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission (NNRFC) for the distribution of federal grants to sub-national governments. “There are allegations that the NNRFC has formulated the criteria for equalization grants based on favoritism,” she said. “It has also been heard that USAID projects have been misused in the involvement of the NNRFC officials. The House must be informed about what has happened in this matter.”

Landslides are occurring even during winter, and the risk increases during the monsoon. The government needs to address this,” he added.
Likewise, Shanti BK of Nepali Congress said the restoration of monarchy is not possible now. “The government needs to focus on economic reform, job creation, quality and accessible education and healthcare, infrastructure development, security and justice, as well as sustainable development,” she added.
