ANFA suspends ticket sales for SAFF Women’s Championship final

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has suspended ticket sales for the final of 2024 SAFF Women’s Championship scheduled for Wednesday.

Issuing a notice on Monday, ANFA said ticket sales for the final match between Nepal and Bangladesh at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu have been suspended until further notice.

ANFA said in the notice that it decided to suspend ticket sales after the second semifinal match between Nepal and India on Sunday drew crowds exceeding the stadium’s capacity. The decision was made to ensure the safety of both players and spectators, it added.

Mount Everest Sports & Events Pvt Ltd, which holds the ticketing rights for SAFF, allegedly sold tickets beyond the stadium’s capacity for the semifinal match. ANFA has said that it was investigating the matter before making further ticketing arrangements.

ANFA has also sought clarification from Mount Everest Sports & Events Pvt Ltd for selling tickets exceeding the stadium’s capacity.

“We urge spectators not to purchase tickets through any medium until further notice,” ANFA said in the notice.
