KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) logged gains of 50.04 points to close the last trading day of the week at 2,002.70 points on Thursday.
The market opened for trading at 1,952.66 points and registered gains throughout the trading session to end the day 2.56% higher.
Shares of Shivam Cement were high in demand on the day as shares worth Rs 78.59 million of the cement producer changed hands on the day. Next on the list were Himalayan Distillery Ltd and Arun Kabeli Pvt Ltd were next on the list with total turnovers of Rs 57.32 million and Rs 47.64 million respectively.
All trading groups ended the day in green with the maximum gains coming from Hydropower sub-index which was up by 3.59%. Finance and Investment were next in the list with gains of 3.46% and R.26%, respectively.
A total of 4.56 million units of 262 scrips worth Rs 1.56 billion were traded through 38,131 transactions on Thursday. The market capitalization reached Rs 2.9 trillion.
