Two dead, three injured as tipper collides with bus and jeep in Belbari

ITAHARI: Two individuals died while three others were injured when a tipper hit a jeep after colliding with a bus on the East-West Highway in Belbari, Morang, on Friday morning.

According to police, the accident occurred when the tipper, which had lost control after colliding with the bus, struck a jeep coming from the opposite direction.

Two passengers of the jeep died in the incident. The deceased has been identified as Yadukanta Bhattrai (51) of Kamal-2, Jhapa, while the identity of the other victim—a woman in her 50s—is unknown. They were rushed to Koshi Hospital for treatment, but the doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.

Gayatri Bhattarai (50) and Hari Khanal (55) of Kamal-2, along with an unidentified man in his 40s, were injured in the incident. They are receiving treatment at Neuro Hospital Biratnagar. All the deceased and the injured were in the jeep.

Police have taken tipper driver Chandra Bahadur BK (23) of Sundar Haraicha-7, Morang, and bus driver Chhatra Kumar Maskey of Sundar Haraicha-12 under control for investigation.
