KATHMANDU: The inquiry committee formed to investigate the death of Jaya Shankar Sah in Barahathawa, Sarlahi, on January 5 has recommended the removal of the police personnel, who fired the fatal shot, from service.

The committee submitted its report to Minister for Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha on Sunday

The committee has advised the government to recall DSP Ganga Thapa who was stationed at the Area Police Office in Barahathawa at the time of the incident.

The Sarlahi administration imposed curfew orders for two days after the incident as the locals took to the streets to protest Sah’s death.
