Nepal APF drawn in Group B alongside Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr

KATHMANDU: Nepal APF Club has been drawn into Group B of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2024/25 preliminary stage alongside Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr, Uzbekistan’s PFC Nasaf and Thailand’s College of Asian Scholars.

According to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the preliminary round of the continental club football competition will be held on August 23-31. Uzbekistan is hosting Group B matches.

Nepal APF Club qualified for the preliminary stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2024/25 as the winner of the ANFA National Women’s League.

Nineteen teams that made it to the preliminary stage were divided into five groups – four groups of four teams each and one group with three – in the draw held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Thursday. The five group winners will join seven teams that have already qualified based on the AFC Women’s Club Competition Ranking 2024/25 in the 12-team final round.

Defending champions Wuhan Jiangda FC of China as well as Melbourne City FC of Australia, Suwon FC of Korea, Tokyo Verdy Beleza of Japan, Ho Chi Minh City FC of Vietnam, Bam Khatoon FC of Iran and one yet to be determined side from the United Arab Emirates have already qualified for the final round.
