NC’s Yogesh Gauchan Thakali elected from Mustang

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Yogesh Gauchan Thakali has been elected to the House of Representatives from Mustang district.

The 29-year-old defeated Prem Prasad Tulachan of CPN-UML. Tulachan was elected to the House of Representatives from the constituency in 2017.

Gauchan received 3,992 votes, while Tulachan got 3,078 votes.

The young NC leader is the son of former parliamentarian Romi Gauchan Thakali. Interestingly, Tulachan had defeated Romi Gauchan Thakali in the 2017 election.

A total of 10,957 people were eligible to vote in the election. Of them, cast 7,257 cast their votes.
