Bartaula named UML’s Chief Whip

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML has named Mahesh Bartaula and Sunita Baral as the Chief Whip and Whip, respectively, in the House of Representatives.

UML Chairman and Parliamentary Party leader KP Sharma Oli nominated Bartaula to the position on Tuesday. Bartaula was nominated to the position after Chief Whip Padam Giri was appointed as a minister in the new coalition government.

Oli also nominated Sunita Baral as the party’s Whip in the lower house.

Bartaula was elected to the House of Representatives from Makwanpur-2, while Baral was elected through proportionate representation.

Both Bartaula and Baral rose through the party ranks from student politics.
