KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) Central Election Committee has published a revised schedule for the party’s 15th General Convention and elections at various levels.
The committee on Tuesday published a timeline for the first phase of the election under the general convention to be held in Kathmandu from October 2 to 5.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the committee said the election schedule was revised, taking into account the disaster caused by the devastating Bhotekoshi floods and the suggestions and feedback from party leaders and cadres.
Under the revised schedule, ward conventions will be held across all 6,743 wards on September 19 and 20. Similarly, municipal conventions will be held on September 23, while Provincial Assembly constituency and House of Representatives constituency conventions will be held on September 26.
The committee said conventions in the flood-affected districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading will be held in coordination with local governments and designated election officers.
Similarly, overseas organization chapters in the remaining countries must hold their respective conventions by September 26.
