KATHMANDU: Cimex BYD, the authorized distributor of BYD vehicles in Nepal, has announced a contribution of Rs 70 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support communities affected by the recent Bhotekoshi floods.
Issuing a statement, the company said the contribution will support the government’s ongoing rescue, relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in flood-affected areas.
“Rasuwa was never just an entry point into Nepal. It was a bridge between Nepal and China. A place where our journey into Nepal began, where our vehicles passed through, and where countless people and communities became part of our extended family,” the company said in a statement on Thursday. “In moments like these, it is about standing with the communities that have been part of our journey.”
According to the latest update, the death toll from the flood has reached 359 while hundreds are missing. The flood has completely damaged one of the most important trade routes with China.
