KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) extended its gains on Tuesday, closing 21.62 points higher at 2,638.60 points.
The market moved into the green right after trading began and continued the momentum throughout the session. It ultimately ended the session 0.82% higher.
Unit prices of 213 scrips advanced during the session, while 42 declined and six remained unchanged. Despite Nepse’s gain, total turnover moderated to Rs 4.23 billion, with 9.36 million units traded through 49,093 transactions.
SY Panel (Nepal) Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 377.29 million worth of shares traded. Next were Ankhu Khola Jalvidyut Company Ltd and Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 246.95 million and Rs 161.22 million, respectively.
All trading groups ended the session in the green. The biggest gain came from the Hotels & Tourism sub-index, which ended 2.07% higher. Next were Manufacturing & Processing and Trading sub-indices, which posted gains of 1.76% and 1.49%, respectively.
