PM Shah departs New York for Nepal

NEW YORK: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has departed New York for Nepal after attending the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Members of his secretariat who had accompanied him to New York have also departed for Nepal.

Shah left New York aboard a Qatar Airways flight and is scheduled to return to Kathmandu via Doha. He is expected to arrive in Kathmandu by Saturday evening.

Officials, including Nepal’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Lok Bahadur Thapa, reached John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York to bid farewell to Shah.

Shah addressed the UN General Assembly on Friday morning.

He had left for New York on Tuesday. During his stay in New York, Shah held separate meetings with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
