Two new ministers sworn in

KATHMANDU: Two newly appointed ministers took the oath of office and secrecy at a special ceremony held at the Office of the President on Sunday.

President Ram Chandra Paudel earlier appointed Dr Sudha Sharma as Minister for Health and Population and Bablu Gupta as Minister for Youth and Sports on the recommendation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki as per Article 76 (9) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015.

President Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers on Sunday.

Although Khagendra Sunar and Ganapati Lal Shrestha had also been recommended for ministerial positions, their names were withheld at the last moment. Prime Minister Karki had proposed Sunar as Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security and Shrestha as Minister for Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation.
