KATHMANDU: A Bailey bridge over Puwakhola River on the Mechi Highway in Ilam district was inaugurated on Wednesday.
Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal and Ambassador of India to Nepal Naveen Srivastava jointly inaugurated the bridge with a span of 488 meters, according to the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
The bridge is among 10 prefabricated steel bridges provided by India under grant assistance to help rebuild critical road infrastructure damaged during the September 2024 floods and to strengthen connectivity.
According to the embassy, three other bridges have already been installed in different parts of Nepal.
