KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi has said that 26 Nepali citizens are missing after floods in Uttarkashi and Pauri Garhwal districts of India’s Uttarakhand state.

Issuing a statement, the embassy said these Nepalis went missing after flash floods in Uttarkashi on August 5 and Pauri Garhwal on August 6.

Those missing in Pauri Garhwal include Narendra Khadka (21), Amrita Pariyar (18), Roman Khadka (18 months), Sandhya Khadka (17) and Bimal BK (21).

Similarly, Janak Bahadur Shahi (45), Rabi Singh (25), Karan Bahadur (40), Robin Singh, Gagan Bahadur, Gorakh Bahadur, Ram Bahadur Shahi, Hari Bahadur Khadka, Prabhati, Keshav, Nirmala Khadka, Laxman (60), Subash BIK (24), Ramesh (24), Priya (24), Deepak Magar (27), Suraj Rana (46), Man Bahadur (48), Nim bahadur (47), Rabi Singh (18) and Ram Bahadur (44) are missing in Uttar Kashi.

include 45-year-old Janak Bahadur Shahi, 25-year-old Ravi Singh, 40-year-old Karan Bahadur, Robbin Singh, Gagan Bahadur, Gorakh Bahadur, Ram Bahadur Shahi, Hari Bahadur Khadka, two individuals identified only as Prabhat and Keshav, Nirmala Khadka, 60-year-old Laxman, 24-year-old Subash Bishwakarma, 24-year-old Ramesh, and 22-year-old Priya.

The embassy said details, names, and addresses of the remaining missing persons are still being collected.
