KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal has withdrawn its support for the Lumbini Province Government.
The party had been supporting the government led by Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya, but was not included in the provincial cabinet.
Ambika Kafle, the sole member of the party in the Lumbini Provincial Assembly, informed Speaker Tularam Gharti Magar on Friday about the party’s decision to withdraw support. She stated that the provincial government had failed in its duties and had shown bias in budget allocation, leaving no justification for continued support.
JSP Nepal originally had three members in the provincial assembly. After two members joined the breakaway faction led by Ashok Rai, which split from the party to form a new JSP, JSP Nepal was left with only one member.
The party has also notified its parliamentary party in the House of Representatives of its decision to withdraw support for the federal government led by KP Sharma Oli.
