Six DIGs of Nepal Police recommended for promotion to AIG

KATHMANDU: Six Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of Nepal Police have been recommended for promotion to Additional Inspectors General (AIGs).

A meeting of the Promotion Recommendation Committee held on Thursday finalized the recommendations for the promotions.

The DIGs recommended for promotion to AIG include Chandra Kuber Khapung, Lalmani Acharya, Krishnahari Sharma Pokharel, Dan Bahadur Karki, Rajan Adhikari and and Dr Manoj Kumar KC.

Khapung is currently posted at the Central Investigation Bureau, while Acharya, Pokharel, Karki and Adhikari are serving as the chief of provincial police offices in Madhesh, Bagmati, Lumbini and Koshi. FC KC is currently heading the National Police Training Academy, Maharajgunj.

One of these six officers will take the reins of the Nepal Police when incumbent Inspector General Deepak Thapa retires on September 3.
