KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, met with India’s Minister for Power Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi, India, on Wednesday.
Minister Khadka, who is in New Delhi to participate in ‘India Energy Week-2025’, held discussions with his Indian counterpart Khattar on Wednesday. The meeting focused on various aspects of energy development between Nepal and India, according to Minister Khadka’s secretariat.
During their previous meeting in New Delhi on November 5, the two ministers had agreed on the framework for constructing Inruwa-Purnia and Dododhara-Bareilly 400 kV cross-border transmission lines.
Khadka thanked his Indian counterpart for the progress made on these transmission lines. He added that the joint secretary-level meetings on January 23 and secretary-level meetings on February 12 had resulted in framework agreements.
He also expressed gratitude for India’s support in facilitating power export to Bangladesh through Indian transmission lines since November 15 last year.
