Inaugurating the Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel on Thursday, Minister Pandey said that the government would facilitate policy-level ease in tourism and civil aviation while encouraging the private sector to make investments in tourism infrastructure. “It is good to see that several international hotel brands are entering the country. I am confident that such developments would contribute to the country’s economic prosperity,” he said, underlining the need for strong collaboration between the government and the private sector to harness the country’s tourism potential and attract international tourists.
Minister Pandey also said that the government has initiated the process of implementing the ‘Tourism Decade’ campaign.
The government aims to declare 2025-2035 as the Tourism Decade, targeting 3.5 million foreign tourists annually by 2025.
US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R. Thompson, said the US remains committed to promoting Nepal’s tourism sector. He added that the presence of American hotel chains like Best Western Plus would further contribute to the development of Nepal’s hospitality industry.
President of the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN), Binayak Shah, stated that the introduction of international-standard hospitality services in Nepal would help promote the country’s tourism sector and expand global connections.
Similarly, Rameshwar Aryal, Chairperson of Best Western Plus Kathmandu, said that the hotel is not merely a business initiative but a reflection of efforts to elevate Nepal’s tourism and hospitality sector to new heights.
Best Western Plus Kathmandu is promoted by KMC Group – a population name in Nepal’s education sector. The four-star hotel hsa four suite rooms, seven premium rooms, 12 super deluxe rooms and 61 deluxe rooms. It has two in-house restaurants – Sunrise Cafe and La Rooftop – and two multi-purpose halls.
