KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has picked candidates for 17 out of 44 positions in the upcoming local body by-elections.
The Election Commission is holding the local body by-polls on December 1.
RSP has formed a team under its lawmaker Ganesh Parajuli to finalize candidates. According to Parajuli, they were preparing to pick candidates for the remaining positions as well.
RSP has picked Prakash Kumar Budha as its candidate for the position of chairperson of Mahabu Rural Municipality of Dolakha, and Goma Shrestha, Parbati Pun and Sujata Fadera (Thapa) as candidates for the positions of Vice Chairperson of Gaurishankar Municipality of Dolakha, Nalagad Municipality of Jajarkot and Sarkegad Rural Municipality of Humla, respectively. Likewise, it has picked Rojina Shrestha as the candidate for the position of Chairperson of Ward-16 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
Similarly, it has picked candidates for 12 positions of ward chairpersons in different municipalities and rural municipalities.
