POKHARA: Police have arrested one of the three men who reportedly fled with a truck loaded with 103 mountain goats from Pokhara last week.

According to the District Police Office, Kaski, Mohammad Fakir (50) of Suddhodan Municipality-4 in Rupandehi, currently residing in Masbar, Pokhara-7, was arrested based on a complaint filed by Takla Gurung of Baragung Muktichhetra Rural Municipality-3.

Police have received permission from the Kaski District Court to keep Fakir in custody for six days for investigation, according to DSP Basanta Kumar Sharma, the information officer of the District Police Office, Kaski. “We arrested Fakir from Pokhara-4 on Monday. “Preliminary investigations reveal that Fakir sold the mountain goats on September 18. He transferred the goats to another vehicle at Ghattekhola in Pokhara-25,” DSP Sharma added.
