KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has deployed a team led by central committee member Pradip Paudel to build temporary shelters for earthquake-affected people in Jajarkot and West Rukum districts.
A meeting of office-bearers of the party held at President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Dhumbarai had decided to deploy volunteers to build temporary houses for earthquake survivors. The party will deploy 25 teams, including engineers and masons, to the two districts. Each team consists of 10 volunteers.
According to Paudel, the teams will start building temporary shelters from Tuesday. “We are taking 35 masons and five or six engineers to Jajarkot from Nepalgunj and Surkhet,” he added.
The team includes leaders such as Dilliram Subedi, Sushil Bhatta, Pushpa Basnet, Deepak Kandel, Bhagwat Regmi, Subash Ghimire, Jivan Subedi, and Navaraj Dangi, among others.
Paudel’s team aims to build 100 temporary shelters in a week.
