KATHMANDU: The Mint Division of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has resumed its work following the relocation of its office and equipment to a new location at Biratnagar.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari on Sunday unveiled a silver medallion minted from the division’s new minting facility on the Nepal Drugs Company Ltd premises in Babar Mahal.
The national animal cow is engraved in the medallion that will come in two different variants of 10 grams and 25 grams. While the medallion of 10 grams can be purchased for Rs 1,600 per unit, the one of 25 grams can be purchased for Rs 4,000.
According to the central bank, the medallions were minted by using 999 Silver in its stock.
The board of directors of the central bank had approved the plan to mint the new medallions some two months ago.
