KATHMANDU: Domestic carrier Yeti Airlines has taken delivery of two ATR 72-500 series aircraft from the Bangladeshi carrier Novoair.
The two planes landed at Kathmandu International Airport on Thursday evening. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has assigned the call signs 9N-AOF and 9N-AOH to the two planes.
With this addition, the number of ATR 72-500 aircraft in Yeti Airlines’ fleet has reached seven. The airline plans to press the new aircraft into service within a week after completing all necessary formalities.
This marks the first fleet expansion for Yeti Airlines since it brought on board Asian Life Insurance as a strategic partner. Asian Life has invested Rs 1.75 billion to acquire a 49% stake in the company.
