There can be no national consensus sans UML, says Poudel

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Vice President Bishnu Paudel stated that there is no valid reason to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Paudel made this statement in Parliament on Monday and also urged other members of the House of Representatives not to vote.

Poudel asked Dahal why there was a need to form another alliance on December 25 if the Prime Minister was going to return to the previous journey.

He added that there can be no national consensus without CPN-UML and accused the Prime Minister of trying to sideline UML the day after he became the Prime Minister. Paudel also mentioned that UML has already decided not to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Dahal and called on other parties not to vote as well.

“The Prime Minister is soliciting a vote of confidence today. However, there is no reason or basis for us to give him a vote of confidence given the way he has come to this stage,” Poudel said. “I sincerely request this House to stand firmly in opposition.”
